About Our Provider
Dr. Jordi Espel
Dr. Jordi Espel is a plastic surgeon with a multicultural background and specialty certifications in plastic surgery, pediatric plastic surgery, and craniofacial surgery. He proudly completed medical school with honors at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) in Mexico City. He successfully earned fellowship degrees from key institutions in the USA, including the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center in Memphis, as well as in Dallas and Australia. His extensive experience in reconstructive care has benefited children and adult patients worldwide, including in Africa, Mexico, Central America, and India. Before becoming an independent plastic surgeon in private practice, Dr. Espel worked at West Tennessee Medical Group and as a pediatric plastic surgeon and reconstructive surgeon at Baptist Memorial Medical Group. He has served for many years as a course director and instructor for the American College of Surgeons and AO North America, teaching trauma, surgery, and facial fracture reconstruction. He is board-certified by the American Board of Wound Management and the Mexican Board of Plastic Surgery. Dr. Espel is a native Spanish speaker who is also fluent in English, Catalan, and French. In his spare time, Dr. Espel enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter. His hobbies include sports, such as triathlons, swimming, and hiking. He aims to provide expert care tailored to each patient's needs.
